Roy Orbison’s career took off with a flying start. His greatest successes date from the 60’s, when 22 of his songs made it to the Billboard Top 40.
‘Only the lonely’, ‘Crying’ en ‘Pretty Woman’ are evergreens. During the ’80’s he withdrew somewhat from the music world. His song ‘In Dreams’, which was picked up by moviemaker David Lynch for the soundtrack of ‘Blue Velvet’, changed that.
Sadly he passed away in the middle of his long expected comebacktour, just when he started to tour with the superband The Traveling Wilburys.
The Big O is not easy to imitate. Matching his appearance is not too hard: black clothes, black hair and dark sunglasses. But his voice is a different story.
Roy Orbison had a very specific, deep voice, somewhere between tenor and bariton, which gave him the nickname ‘The Caruso of Rock’ opleverde.
BARRY STEELE IS WORLDWIDE KNOWN AS ONE OF THE BEST ROY ORBISON-TRIBUTESINGERS. HE LOOKS EXACTLY AS THE BIG O AND ALSO SOUNDS AS THIS LEGEND!
