The Bootleg Doors

The Bootleg Doors

The Bootleg Doors originates as a Doors tribute band in 1996, in Amsterdam. As official Jim Morrison Tribute Show, they toured worldwide and performed in theaters, clubs and halls on all continents.

The unconditional mission of the bandmembers is to get as many people as possible aquainted with the fascinating beautiful music of The Doors. And to let them hear the great variety of songs and to take them along in the lyrics and thereby the view on life from The Doors and in particular Jim Morrison.

The Bootleg Doors play the psychedelic rock music from the sixties from Jim Morrison and the Doors. They try to do that with as much as possible the same instruments as the original Doors. However, a concert from The Bootleg Doors is not a primitive interpretation from a Doors live concert from 1967. The Bootleg Doors play the songs as you know them at home from The Doors studio CD’s or the live albums. It is the only Doors tributeband that performs live with a bass player. All studio recordings from The Doors are played with bass players.

The show lasts 2 x 60 minutes, in which all well-known Doors songs pass by like Light my Fire, Riders on the storm, Love her madly, When the music’s over, L.A. Woman, Roadhouse Blues, Gloria, The End.

The musicians from The Bootleg Doors have years of experience in all kinds of different bands. But through their shared love for the music of The Doors a solid friendship has derived that gives every performance something magical.
With the ligtshow, videoshow, smoke machines and candlelight on the stage, it is almost impossible to draw another conclusion then that “The Doors are back again”. You want The Doors? You will get The Doors!

According to the biggest Doors fanclub “Doors Quarterly” The Bootleg Doors may call themselves the best Doors tributeband.
“I liked very much their show in Germany. Finally a band who understands that it’s all about the music of The Doors” Frank Lisciandro quoted. “The show is unbelievable authentic”, “unbelievable”, “if you close your eyes, you’ll hear The Doors”. Gilles Yepremian, an old Parisian friend from Jim Morrison invited The Bootleg Doors to play during The Doors Memorial Concert on Elyssee Montmartre in Paris, filmed and broadcasted by MTV Europe, BBC en Canal Plus.
